Another way you can increase your Alexa ranking is if the site is used as a central library to link out images to other sites. If a site , e.g. example.com , has a link to an image located at another site, e.g:
example2.com/images/traffic.gif , then Alexa records a hit at example2.com when this image is accessed during the rendering of the page at example.com.
